The Story of

Shai Kozlovski

Photographed with: Netta Garti, actress

When the wound is invisible, poetry gives it a voice

Married, a father of seven and a grandfather of four, Shai is a retired major in the Combat Engineering Corps. His roles included regional defense officer in the Etzion Regional Brigade and engineering officer in the Samaria and Northern Gaza Regional Brigades.

Shai lives with PTSD and has found in writing and poetry a way to process the experiences he carries and put into words pain and emotions that can be difficult to express.

Through his creative work, he tells his own story and gives voice to the shared experience of many people living with wounds that are not always visible.
