Behind every combat soldier in this photograph is a story that does not end with the return home
Each of them carries a different story of service, combat and coping. Some were wounded physically, others emotionally, and some continue to serve today. Behind every name are moments of battle, loss, responsibility, rehabilitation and the return to life afterward.
Their joint meeting with the Prime Minister brings to the forefront those who have borne, and continue to bear, the cost of combat — and our responsibility as a society to see them, listen to them and support them long after they return home.
