The Story of
Dror Zicherman
Photographed with: Ron Huldai, Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo
His body recovered, and his soul chooses life
An injured IDF veteran who served as a combat soldier in the Nachshon Battalion, Dror was severely wounded in a suicide bombing during an operation in 2005. His friend, Lieutenant Uri Binmo, was killed in the attack.
After a year and a half of physical rehabilitation, he thought the hardest part was behind him. Several years later, however, symptoms of PTSD began to emerge. He realized that rehabilitation does not end when the body heals, and that the mind also needs time, treatment and space.
Today, Dror is a fitness coach, speaker and studio owner. Drawing on his own experience, he raises awareness of PTSD, chooses to speak about it openly and learn about himself through it, and above all, to live.
