The Story of
Yosef Abramson
Photographed with Haim Taib
Yosef was a soldier in Battalion 931 of the Nahal Brigade and his left hand was wounded by shrapnel during Operation Protective Edge. He currently suffers from nerve damage which limits the use of his fingers.
In 2019, about five years after his injury, he returned to playing the guitar for the first time thanks to a special development of the Restart association. As part of the association's "Makers for Heroes" project, the best minds from the Israeli technological world are developing unique products customized to the various challenges of IDF wounded.
Two years later, in collaboration with actor and singer Tzachi Halevi, a special song was released that tells the life story of wounded IDF soldiers, about their great difficulties, but also about the light and the great hope they inspire.
