The mission ended, but the sights remained with him

Married and a father of three, Shlomo has served in Battalion 951 for more than a decade. He began in the recovery and identification of fallen soldiers and later became an outstanding officer and deputy commander of the headquarters company.

On October 7, 2023, he was called up to the reserves and served at Camp Shura, where he spent an extended period identifying those killed in the disaster and ensuring they received a dignified final farewell.

The mission ended, but he continues coping with what he experienced. Shlomo is undergoing rehabilitation and dealing with the psychological consequences of his service, which have also affected his personal, family and working life.

Shlomo’s story reminds us that even those who complete their mission and return home do not always truly return from the war.
