Even when he himself was wounded, he continued caring for others

David, 36 and father of Tal-Ori, is a former combat soldier in the Paratroopers reconnaissance unit. He began as a Magen David Adom volunteer and later worked on developing and managing a medical system at United Hatzalah.

On December 4, 2023, while evacuating wounded soldiers in Shuja'iyya, the vehicle he was traveling in was struck by an RPG. David sustained shrapnel wounds to his arm and leg, but continued guiding the team, treating the wounded and helping evacuate them under fire until they reached the helicopters.

Since then, he has been coping with PTSD and undergoing a process of rehabilitation and rebuilding his life. Alongside his personal challenges, he continues working for the community and honors the memory of his cousin, the late Dor Lazimi, who fell in battle, through his work.
