His injury interrupted his path, but did not change his choice to keep serving and contributing

A reserve officer, high-tech engineer and disabled IDF veteran, Amit was severely wounded during the Second Lebanon War in 2006 when a Kornet missile hit the tank in which he was fighting, just two days before the ceasefire. He was rescued under fire and evacuated for medical treatment in serious condition.

After months of rehabilitation, Amit chose to return to officer training and complete the course his injury had interrupted. He continues serving in the reserves today alongside his career as a high-tech engineer.

For Amit, returning to service is part of his choice not to let his injury set the boundaries of his life, and to keep participating, contributing and leading.
