The Story of

Yizhar David

Photographed with: Avi Dichter, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security and former head of the Israel Security Agency

We do not leave the wounded behind

Yizhar served for 24 years in the Israel Security Agency, from 1990 to 2014, in field and operational roles. After nine years of hiding the PTSD he was facing, and just as he was about to be appointed to a senior position, he chose to stop and leave the service to care for himself and return to his family and his life.

After rehabilitation, he chose to return, this time for others: to find people living with invisible injuries and reach out to them.

Today, Yizhar is a social entrepreneur, educator, speaker and author of the bestseller Ticking Bomb, in which he shares his story and his experience of PTSD.
